Lamps Plus
______________________
A while back I was hired by Lamps Plus for an exciting 4-months freelance project to design the inaugural issue of the 55 Downing Street catalog. It included 52 pages of designer furnishings and décor, targeting a new audience for Lamps Plus. The catalog was distributed to select areas populated by affluent design-minded women.
I was involved in all aspects of design and production, as well as coordinating with buyers, photographers, scene stylists, retouchers, copywriters, and marketing to bring the final product to fruition.
It was perhaps the largest scale endeavor I had undertaken to date in terms of managing this project while navigating through so many departments of Lamps Plus. The approval process at every stage of design and through numerous rounds of changes was not for the faint of heart.
But I was extremely happy to take on this challanging project, because I wasn't just designing a catalog, I was creating a visual style guide. This catalog issue was designed to have a brand new look to be adopted by all future Lamps Plus catalogs.
